Last November 13-14, the European Union held a three-day training for the different civil society organizations in the Philippines who are current and soon-to-be beneficiaries for funding in their projects by the EU. Two representatives from the LOGODEF attended the workshop: Board Member Atty. Susan U. Ordinario and Project Officer Kim Charles U. Principe.
The training focused on incorporating Gender and Development (GAD) into their company policies and in their project proposals and implementations. The first part of the training introduced concepts on gender and sexuality (how sex is biological and gender is socially constructed). The workshop also provided training for the participants on communication strategies in relation to project implementation and planning. It was stated that the European Union is now requiring funding beneficiaries to provide communication plans for their project along with their respective logical frameworks.
In the course of the three-day training workshop, participants underwent consultation with the resource persons in improving their project proposals/frameworks. The workshop concluded with the participants submitting their revised communication plans and project proposals and an awarding of certificates of participation.
