On 10 July 2018, Consultative Committee to Review the 1987 Constitution (ConCom) member and LOGODEF Executive Director Prof. Edmund Tayao presented LOGODEF’s studies supported by the Department of Interior and Local Government’s Local Government Academy (LGA), held at the Commitment Room of the LGA’s main office at Ortigas Center in Pasig City.
Prof. Tayao presented a study he led entitled “Towards A Problem Driven Federalism Initiative for the Philippines: The Regional and Local Governments in a Federal Philippine Government.” Together in the same study were Prof. Ramon Casiple, Mr. Alex Raoul Villano, Atty. Al Oxales, Ms. Yvette Yap and Prof. Anna Aquino.
Also at the event are Fiscal Decentralization Expert Dr. Antonio Avila and Congressional Policy and Budget Research Department Director Novel Bangsal to present another study entitled “Managing the Cost of Multi-Level Governance: Fiscal Federalism Study.” Led by Dr. Avila, other member of the project team were Prof. Edmund Tayao, Dir. Novel Bangsal, Prof. Leah Estacio-Tiu, and Ms. Jo-Ann de Belen.
The presentations were then followed by an open forum where members of the LGA had the opportunity to ask their questions and clarifications to the presenters.
