On 30 July 2018, Consultative Committee to Review the 1987 Constitution (ConCom) member Prof. Edmund Tayao was invited as one of the resource person in an event organized by De La Salle University’s Committee on National Issues and Concerns (CONIC) entitled “Kamalayan: Kapihan ng Malayang LaSalyano – A Post-SONA Forum.” It was held at the ground floor of the Henry Sy Sr. Hall at DLSU’s main campus in Manila City.
Prof. Tayao discussed the proposed federal constitution drafted by the Consultative Committee, and explained the need to shift for federalism. He also answer the concerns of the people including the proposal of other groups to just amend the Local Government Code.
The other speakers invited for the event are DLSU College of Law Dean Jose Diokno to dicuss human rights, former Solicitor-General Atty. Florin Hilbay to discuss the territorial integrity, Ateneo Economics Department Professor Dr. Alvin Ang for the fiscal aspect and former Congresswoman Ms. Djalia Hataman for the Bangsamoro Organic Law.
