From June 25-26 2018, the members of the Consultative Committee to Review the 1987 Constitution (ConCom) in cooperation with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) hold regional consultations in several venues across Baguio City.
On the first day of the Baguio regional consultation, ConCom members Dr. Virgilio Bautista, Lt. Gen. Ferdinand Bocobo (Ret.), Atty. Susan Ubalde-Ordinario, Atty. Martin Loon and Prof. Eddie Mapag Alih hold a press conference at the Crown Legacy Hotel and conduct a consultation with the Cadets of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) at the Lopez Hall of Leaders. After the presentation of the draft and an open forum, the ConCom members were invited for a dinner with the cadets at the mess hall. The ConCom members also had a courtesy call with the officers of the PMA and an inspection of the cadets’ quarters.
On the second day, they were joined by ConCom members Prof. Edmund Tayao and Atty. Laurence Wacnang for the regional consultation held at the Crown Legacy Hotel where the members discussed the proposed federal constitution. It was followed by an open forum where the participants from different sectors of the Cordillera asked their questions to the members of the Committee. It was followed by a Federalism Convention at the Gymnasium of the University of Baguio attended by more than 5,000 participants from different parts of the Cordillera.
