Assessment and Coordination Meeting on Federalism Initiative Project

An assessment meeting on federalism was held last 16 January 2017 at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), Quezon Ave., Quezon City. Members of the PDP Laban Federalism Institute Study Groups attended the said meeting including representatives from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI)-Facilitating Public Investment (FPI), Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), The Asia Foundation (TAF) and Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Prof. Edmund Tayao of LOGODEF presented the latest draft of semi-presidential federal model of government. Dr. Rosario Manasan of PIDS discussed extensively the guiding principles behind allocation of taxing powers and assignment of competencies under a federal form of government.
