University of the Philippines (UP)-National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) Forum on Federalism
The Public Administration 259 Post-Graduate Class (Special Issues in Local Government) of UP-NCPAG organized a forum entitled “Federalism in the Philippines: Opportunities, Issues and Prospects” on 8 December at Bayanihan Hall, Unilab, Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City. Under the supervison of Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos, former Mayor of Mandaluyong City, the forum aims to deepen the understanding of the participants by unpacking the various aspects of federalism.
The forum is composed of students and various stakeholders from private sector and local government officials including the city mayor (Hon. Carmelita “Mencie” Abalos), city councilors and barangay officials of Mandaluyong City. Prof. Edmund Tayao, executive director of LOGODEF, presented the draft Philippine semi-presidential federal of federalism made by LOGODEF-PREP and PDP-Laban Federalism Institute Study Groups.
